Bleeding green in Fog City.

Who's heading to Macworld this January? Hands please. Why not kick around town over the weekend and join some of your PDA-toting peers at the 2006 Worldwide Newton Conference in San Francisco. The event is conveniently scheduled directly following Macworld Expo, from January 13 - 15, 2006. The conference program is still a state of flux, but will include presentations by Paul Guyot (developer of the Einstein Emulator, ATA Support Driver, and the only non-Apple Newton system update - to name but a few of his accomplishments), Larry Yeager (long-time Apple employee and handwriting recognition guru), Adam Tow (software developer, photographer and technology evangelist) and others. Yours truly has even been convinced to give a talk about the tools and tribulations related to creating fonts for the Newton. Typefaces and obsolete computing platforms - two of my favourite subjects. Expert panel discussions, informal ‘how-to’ sessions, and demonstrations of the latest software developments for the Newton platform are also planned. Latest developments? Oh yeah, we're talking Bluetooth, WiFi, and blogging, baby. I'll be heading to the Bay Area in January. Maybe I'll see you there. If not, I'll be Flickring the heck out of it anyway.

The day job.

So, what's been keeping me quieter than usual over the past few weeks? The redesign and full-body massage over at the day job, for one thing. No, it's not quite standards-compliant yet (but it's a damn sight closer than it used to be). And yes, I realize that the orange logo is gone (sorry folks, but life moves on...) But hey, check out the tableless XHTML/CSS structure of the home page and other top-level product categories like photography and type. Those adjustments alone pretty much make all the banging of head against desk worth it. Don't miss the snappy new on-the-page type previewing and the zoomable character charts either. Peruse. Enjoy. Chat amongst each other.

Furthermore.
